After Apple's success with using high-resolution Retina screen on their products (New IPAD), which can display sharp images and riveting, Microsoft immediately announced that Windows 8 will be present this year will also support the Retina screen with a resolution up to 2560 × 1440 pixels.
Many of the upcoming Windows 8 tablets will have a pixel density of at least 135 DPI, and on some HD tablets can reach 190 DPI to 253 DPI. While the retina screen which is used the New iPad has a density of 264 PPI pixels.
The specification does make the image look sharper, and give more space to display a variety of applications. But not necessarily all applications benefit from the advantages of space, because the vast empty space even more uncomfortable to be seen.
And most of the current site has not been made on the basis of high resolution, thus leaving plenty of empty space. But after all that technology competition becomes more intense and heated, it is likely can benefit many users or consumers, especially if the price will also compete. Microsoft hopes that by the use of this retina screen, they can compete with other tablet competitors and win the game.
