Solar Gard Platinum, Effectively Reject Infrared Heat

Solar Gard introduced the platinum window film using technology 'multi-layered sputtering', which is the continued development of sputtering. Multi-layered sputtering is shooting of micro particles with various layers of metal.

"So, each sheet of the platinum window film is composed of many layers of metal. Among them, titanium, indium, gold and silver to reject the heat energy," said Troy Kurniawan, Solar Gard Brand Manager of Indonesia at event media gathering in Jakarta, Indonesia, Friday (March 30, 2012).

"The technology used in Solar Gard is better than the nanotechnology. Nano has a disadvantage compared to the kind of sputtering, in which Nano tend to absorb heat," added Troy.

According to Troy, the heat absorbed makes structure of films changed. Strength of the glass will gradually be reduced, even in the long run may crack because it absorbs the heat energy rejected in excessive amount.

In the trial in front of media, although the glass film is a clear (transparent), heat energy rejected is quite significant, so the car cabin stay cool. Solar Gard Platinum was created to be able to resist the heat of infrared ray up to 98%. "The ability of Solar Gard window film when compared directly with glass film kind of films, proved to reject infrared heat significantly," said Troy.

Media can prove directly that the absorption films will cause the glass of vehicle become hot and will be emitted into the cab of the vehicle through re-radiation and convection which causes the cabin becomes heat.

Further explained, Solar Gard Platinum was created instead of absorbing heat, but to reject infrared heat up to 98 percent. Solar Gard Platinum (LX70 and LX40) are made using complex sputtered stack technology consisting of nine layers of different metals and selective in rejecting heat.

In addition to environmentally friendly and got the label 'green' from the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), Solar Gard has a Sun Protector Factor (SPF) +285. It means the glass film is able to keep the skin for 48 hours. Solar Gard is recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation in the United States and if applicable, Solar Gard will hold 99% of destructive UVA and UVB rays.
