America as a superpower has always had an innovation in weapons technology even suggested that in 33 years ago, the President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, canceled the production of neutron bombs. Weapons of mass destruction believed to be more effective and deadly than the atom bomb.

According to BBC news station, the bomb was invented by U.S. scientists, Sam Cohen, in 1958. It is a thermonuclear weapon that has a little more explosive power than atom bombs but spend more on levels of deadly radiation.

Unlike nuclear weapons, neutron bombs were invented to kill more people but not to destroy the building. At first, the administration of President Carter still continue to produce the neutron bomb and wanted to use it as a warhead for the Lance missile and artillery in Europe.

U.S. military officials now believe that the neutron bomb is a powerful weapon to anticipate the threat of the Soviet Union in Europe. However, the U.S. decision was received stiff opposition from many countries in Europe and in the domestic United States.

They call it a weapon as a "capitalist bomb" and could provoke a nuclear war. U.S. allies in Europe such as Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands rejected the installation of a neutron bomb.

Rejection was finally able to persuade Carter to cancel the production of neutron bombs. Substitute Carter, Ronald Reagan that is, had resumed production of neutron bomb in 1981 but only in small quantities and never installed in Europe.

It's a horrible weapon to kill without destroying objects - objects in the vicinity. Hopefully this weapon will never be used in warfare, because otherwise there will be so many innocent lives that can be killed.
